Andrei Vladimirovich Skoch: biography and interesting facts

Skoch Andrei Vladimirovich – Russian deputy, philanthropist, in the past – the entrepreneur. He raises 10 children. Education, business, political career Andrei Skoch was born in the village of Nikolskoye near Moscow in 1966. He graduated from the Sholokhov Moscow State Open Pedagogical University. In the 1990s, Skoch was a prominent businessman. He received his first serious income from sales of oil products: he and his partner developed a whole production chain, which included all necessary steps from procurement of raw materials to processing into gasoline and its further sale at gas stations. Subsequently, he invested in a stake in the company Interfin, one of the founders of which was Alisher Usmanov. Later, several large industrial enterprises of the Belgorod region were included in the company Interfin which invested in dozens of different assets. Skoch also held the post of a deputy general director at the Lebedinsky GOK for some time. By the end of the 1990s, Andrei Vladimirovich Skoch’s share in Interfin became a kind of a bank deposit for him, and he himself rarely took a direct part in the management of the company. In 1999, he decided to run for the State Duma elections. For the sake of a new position, he gave up his business activities and transferred his assets to his father, Vladimir Skoch, who was engaged in trade union activities at the time. Skoch Andrei Vladimirovich has been working in the State Duma of the Russian Federation for 20 years. Over these years he has been a member of various committees and has authored and co-authored many legislative initiatives and amendments to more than 150 draft federal laws. Earlier, Skoch worked in the Expert Council on Metallurgy and Mining. Within the Council, he developed draft laws, making the work of industrial enterprises easier. Philanthropic activities of Andrei Skoch In the late 90’s Andrei Skoch created the “Healthy Generation” charitable foundation, through which the philanthropist provided assistance to sick children. The organization primarily focused on children with congenital heart diseases. In the future, the foundation received the name “Pokolenie” (“Generation”), this happened in connection with the expansion of the scope of its activity. In 2010, Skoch opened a new medical center in Belgorod, which began to function together with the foundation. Now this medical center is one of the best equipped in the entire region. In recent years, the foundation has also been involved in supporting young writers. In 2000, the organization established the “Debut” literary prize. A competition in which talented writers under the age of 25 could participate. In 2006, Andrei Vladimirovich Skoch became the patron of the year. He helped people in need, donating about 7.5 billion rubles to charity. He allocated funds for: the restoration of military monuments; the assistance to veterans of the Great Patriotic War. In 2007, Andrei Skoch presented automobiles to three thousand veterans.
